Stack overflow is moving to gcp under new VC leadership
Stackoverflow and Craigslist were few websites which engineers could point to for stellar example of hosting your own servers. Unfortunately, SO is moving to cloud under new partnership with Google. And community is not happy.

Remember the old times, when everyone used to have their own websites, sometimes ugly, sometimes funky, but it was ours. Now, most of the internet users basically go to the top 5 websites with links cross-posting from one another. This breaks the initial promise of the internet.
