This is a great idea. We all feel productive loss with everything optimizing the attention all the time.
The way I managed to cope with this is to block all attention-hungry sites outright, or put a limit on consumption. Gamifying things just takes this to next level incentivizing the user to make tools work for her.
Would love to see a prototype. :)
