Rails have enabled many companies to build thier MVP and scale to billions of users such as Twitter, Airbnb and Shopify. While these apps aren't open-source many are and can serve as a starting point for a new startup or just as a source of education.

Funny thing is that I worked at two startups using rails for their main product totalling close to 4 years of service. But, this is my first rails app.
